Whimsy & Row

I love finding small brands, especially ones that are trying to go a more sustainable route with their designs. Whimsy & Row is a company based in California and recently launched their first collection with their own designs. For fabrics, Whimsy & Row uses deadstock fabric only. All of their packages are recyclable and don’t include plastic like most other retailers. They also don’t use any water at all in the making of their garments. They’re basically my heroes.

The collection is SO cute which is another major bonus. I highly recommend checking them out and buy some good!

Portland Coffee Shops: Prince Coffee

There are many great coffee shops in Portland, in fact so many that it can be hard to choose which one to go to. But after going to my fair share of coffee shops, there is one in particular I always look forward going to. Prince Coffee located in Kenton, is my favorite coffee shop right now. The atmosphere, the amazing lattes, and of course the Stroopwaffels…the experience is perfect every time.

What is your favorite coffee shop in Portland? Why do you like it so much! I would love to hear what ones you like!

Local Shops for Mother’s Day Gifts

There are lots of great local shops to support when you’re on the hunt for a great Mother’s Day gift. I picked up these fresh, locally grown flowers at Sammy’s Flowers on Burnside. Another great stop for flowers is Solabee Flowers on Killingsworth in NE Portland. Or if you’re in the mood to get your mom something a little more special, there are lot’s of great local shops that are offering discounts to shop at their store. Coava coffee was offering a discount and other shops like Orn Hansen are stocking their shop with great gifts. So think local when shopping for mom!

Pieces to Beat the Heat

This has been a recent favorite outfit of mine ever since the weather started to heat up finally here in Portland. I love a good summer dress especially one that is light weight and makes getting dressed super easy. Basket bags have been another favorite of mine lately. They go with every single outfit of mine and are a cute way to add a vintage touch to an outfit. They remind me of a picnic basket too so they’re the perfect summer bag!

Mules are also a must have as the weather heat up. I love the color of these even though they more fall colors, I think they’re still great for spring and summer!

How to stay stylish in the rain…

Portland is such a great city and the favorite place that I’ve ever lived in. BUT it’s no joke how much it rains here. ALL THE TIME, and it’s so hard to pick out a cute outfit that is still weather appropriate. Luckily, I was recently introduced to Stutterheim, a Swedish brand that makes stylish rain jackets that are actually very weatherproof. I got 2 colors, one for fun and one that’s more practical for everyday wear and they’ve been a godsend! I get so many compliments on them every time I wear them. So not only can I leave the house feeling like I’m not going to get drenched by the constant Portland rain, but I still feel modern and effortless with my style.

Association Shop

There are so many great local shops in Portland. The other day I stumbled across another great new shop that reminded me so much of Los Angeles. Association Shop just opened up a couple of weeks ago in SE Portland. They had a variety of vintage pieces as well as new pieces like pants, tops, and shoes. The shop was well curated and felt as though you were shopping inside of an art gallery. The pieces were a bit pricey but I ended up getting some nail polish that I love!

Make sure and check out Association shop!

The popular sustainable, Los Angeles based fashion brand, Reformation, has recently released its first swimwear collection. The styles are very simple and reminiscent of old vintage styles of the 50s and more. The styles are already selling out very quickly and fashion obsessed girls are falling in love with the styles. The swim suits come in a variety of styles such as bikini and one pieces and range from $70-$150.

Check out the new styles and comment below on your favorite one!

Portland is known for its quirky shops and feminist ways, Project Object is nothing short of those two things. Opening just last week on April 4th, 2017, Project Object is a new shop on SE Sandy street that showcasing local designers. Inside, the shopper will find jewelry, apparel, recreational items, and some beauty products as well.

The shop also prides itself in being a place where local artists can also display their work as well as being a place where mostly women have created the pieces for sale. Every 4-6 months, a new artist will potentially “take over” the store and paint the back wall in their own work. They will also have a gallery to showcase their latest pieces to the customers that stop in as well.

Currently on display, decorating the walls of Project Object is artist: Klai Brown. Her display represents 13 different women.

This Friday, Project Object will be having a grand opening party as well this Friday! The party will include live music, drinks, and of course lots of cute things to shop and support local designers and artists.
